Author of two non-fiction books: "Mapping the Great Game: Explorers, Spies & Maps in 19th-Century Asia" and "The Stone Tower: Ptolemy, the Silk Road, and a 2,000-Year-Old Riddle". Currently working on a biography of Michael Ward who, amongst his other accomplishments, was the expedition doctor during the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953.
